Popular Climbing Routes

  3. Lemosho Route – Less crowded, very scenic, and excellent for acclimatization.

  4. Rongai Route – Remote, drier side of the mountain, fewer crowds.

  5. Umbwe Route – Steepest and most difficult, recommended for experienced trekkers.

Best Time to Climb
  • January to March and June to October are the best months due to clear weather.

  • Avoid April-May and November (rainy seasons).


Climbing Duration
  • Treks typically take 5 to 9 days, depending on the route.

  • Longer routes increase your chance of summit success due to better acclimatization.

Altitude & Safety
  • Altitude sickness is the biggest challenge — climb slowly and stay hydrated.

  • Choose a certified guide and ensure proper acclimatization days are included.
